ANIMAL CONTROL
Pet owners are responsible for preventing their pets from becoming a public nuisance for the sake of community members.  The City of Batavia provides animal control services through the Police Department for dogs only.  The Police Department can be contacted at (585) 345-6350.

The names of nuisance trappers for undomesticated animals can be obtained from the Police Department.

CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
The following Licenses, Permits and Certificates/Acknowledgements can be obtained from the Batavia City Clerk's Office:

Marriage Licenses, Certified Copies of Marriage Registrations, Dog Licenses, Bingo Licenses, Renewal Bingo Licenses, Games of Chance Licenses, and Conservation Licenses.

Soliciting Permits, New Dog Permits, Renewal Dog Permits, and Handicapped Parking Permits.

Birth Certificates, Acknowledgement of Paternity Forms, and Death Certificates.

MOTOR VEHICLE LICENSES
Motor Vehicle Licenses can be obtained by contacting the Genesee County Motor Vehicle Department located at 15 Main Street, County Building #1.  The Motor Vehicle Department is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.  For more information, contact the County at (585) 344-2550 Ext. 2247.

YARD WASTE RECYCLING STATION
The City of Batavia Yard Waste Recycling Station is located on Law Street and is open to City residents to bring their "green" matter (i.e. grass, leaves, branches).  The regular season runs from about mid April - mid October.  The hours during the regular season are Monday through Saturday from noon to 6:00 p.m.  From mid October until the station closes for the year (usually the beginning of December) the hours are Monday - Saturday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m..  Please call the Bureau of Maintenance at (585) 345-6400 for more information.
