"Ready Genesee" App Will Help Citizens Prepare

The Genesee County Office of Emergency Management and the County Health Department have teamed up with Quickseries Publishing for an interactive Community Preparedness App.  The free “Ready Genesee” App will assist residents with creating an emergency plan for their family along with an emergency supply kit designed for specific family needs.  Additionally, imbedded resource guides provide valuable information on specific emergencies.  The mapping feature will direct the user to county emergency agencies while allowing emergency personnel to show road closures, detours, shelter locations etc.  Additional features includes text and e-mail notification of your status during an emergency.  The App will also feature National Weather Service and FEMA alerts.
