Based on the results of

As discussed under "Funding", betterments
are those work elements that may be included in a project but cannot be paid
for by the State or Federal funding, and therefore must be funded by a local
municipality or involved agency / utility. As part of this project, the City
is including in the project construction of a new waterline and some sanitary
sewer improvements as betterments.
The State has tentatively agreed to share in 29% of the waterline betterment
since portions of the existing waterlines would have been in conflict with
the proposed highway improvements. In addition, some of the streetscape
enhancements in the downtown area (such as benches, trash receptacles, banner
poles and an underground irrigation system) are considered a betterment.
Niagara Mohawk has also included a small betterment for installation of new ducts under |
