NY Route 5 - Main Street Reconstruction

 


Two-Week Schedule

 

The following information summarizes the Contractor's anticipated work schedule and locations for the next 2 weeks. 

Week September 27  – October 2     (Schedule is weather dependent)   

 

     

Traffic flow is expected to be slow from Route 98 to Colonial Blvd. and including Lewiston Rd. and in areas of miscellaneous lane closures , so all travelers should allow extra time for their trips through the project area.

 

All motorists are advised to obey traffic laws and not to block intersections.

 

  1. Monday, Sept. 27 – Paving Operations on Route 98 (Oak Street) at Route 5 (West Main Street) from approx.       7A.M. till 12P.M.  North and South bound traffic on Route 98 will be reduced to single lanes.  Traffic delays are to be expected.  Please, allow for additional time if traveling thru this area.

 

  1. Monday, Sept. 27 – Route 63 (Ellicott Street) between Route 5 (West Main Street) and Court Street will be closed to all thru traffic for paving operations.  This is expected to take place between 11 A.M. until 5P.M.  All North and South bound traffic using Route 63 will be directed to use Court Street as a detour.  If at all possible avoid this area because traffic delays are expected to severe.

 

  1. Tuesday, Sept. 28 – Paving operations are expected to continue on side streets along West Main Street from downtown to Lyons Street.  Short term closures will occur while paving operations continue.  Preparation for paving from Lyons Street to the Project’s west limit will reduce traffic to a single lane of traffic in each direction (East and West) along Route 5 (West Main Street).

 

  1. Wednesday, Sept. 29 – Mainline paving operations on Route 5 (West Main Street) from Lyons Street to the Project’s west limit will occur from 6A.M. till 7P.M.  Traffic will be reduced to single lanes in both East and West bound directions.  Access to side streets and properties will be limited while paving operations proceed thru.  All efforts will be made to limit delays, but there will be times when property access will be restricted.  All access will be restored as is practical to run traffic over the newly placed asphalt.  This will impact the intersection with Lewiston Road.

 

  1. Thursday, Sept. 30 – Paving operations on Lewiston Road (Route 63) from 7A.M. till 5P.M.  Traffic will be reduce to a single lane in both the North and South bound directions.

 

  1. Friday, Oct. 1 – Paving operations are expected to continue on side streets along West Main Street from Lyons Street to Colonial Boulevard.  Short term closures on side streets will occur while paving operations continue.
