When are permit inspections required?
It is the responsibility of the permit applicant to contact the Code Enforcement Officer to schedule progress inspections as follows:
- Excavation- prior to placement of stone or engineered fill, if any.
- Footing - after forms and re-enforcing materials are installed, prior to concrete placement.
- Foundation – 1) after forms are set and re-enforcing materials are installed, prior to concrete placement. 2) after forms are removed. Backfilling may not be performed until the foundation is braced or the floor framing is completed.
- Framing- after plumbing, mechanical and electrical.
- Roofing- roofing requires ice and water shield inspection before covering.
- Electrical- rough by third party electrical inspection agency.
- Plumbing- rough before covering.
- Insulation- before covering
- Plumbing- finish
- Electrical- finish by third party electrical inspection agency.
- Final- after completion of all work.
- A combination of inspections may be scheduled at the same time.
- Inspections should be scheduled with two days advance notice when possible.
