Recent Public-Private Projects

The City of Batavia has been very active in public-private economic development. In the last three years, the City has secured more than $2,500,000 in grant dollars to motivate private investment.

RESTORE NEW YORK GRANT $1,500,000
A private industrial redevelopment project of $3,000,000+ to turn an antiquated industrial site into modern space and home to Class A offices for financial services and R&D.

NEW YORK MAIN STREET GRANT $450,000
Motivated downtown property owners to invest more than $1,000,000 to improve their buildings and to turn vacant upper floor spaces into urban-chic apartments.

BATAVIA OPPORTUNITY AREA GRANT $260,000
A 366 acres study to identify strategic underutilized sites and to reposition the properties for redevelopment based on solid market data and engineered concepts.

NYS OFFICE OF COMMUNITY RENEWAL HOUSING REHAB GRANT $400,000
Assisted 19 City residents with home improvements that increase the property value and will further foster neighborhood pride.
