Emergency Preparedness

Too many communities are ravaged annually by natural disasters.  It is our mission to assure that all city residents are prepared in the event of any natural event so such devastation can be reduced or prevented.  There are a multitude of things that individuals can do to make themselves, loved ones, their homes and possessions more disaster resistant, states Fire Chief Jim Maxwell.

Our goal is to enable people to take control over potential risks they may encounter.

During a disaster people who are not prepared tend to feel powerless, this is why pre-incident preparation is critical.  By knowing what events are common to our area of New York State like Floods, High Winds, Winter Weather, and Wildfires makes you better prepared when disaster strikes.
